The Retail Institute was challenged by a well-known food manufacturer to identify a new type of food packaging that would survive in extreme climates.
Working closely with the manufacturer, we had to apply our experience of what it takes to produce packaging solutions for traditional storage conditions, along with our knowledge of the pressures that extreme heat and freezing temperatures puts on packaging.
We were also tasked with understanding which packaging material would be most suitable to prevent spoilage and increase shelf
life at these extreme climates.
This project required our entire team to work together to apply our range of disciplines, services and research methods.

After our extensive research and consultation work, we produced a technical feasibility report for the client, which detailed the results of our research.
The client was impressed with the effort we had put into finding a solution to their problem, and took the recommendations of our research on board. Using our research, they went on to adopt a new packaging material for the product so that spoilage and waste was decreased and shelf life was increased.
